What is .NET?
Microsoft .NET is one of the best ways to connect systems, information, and devices through Web services so people transfer information more effectively and securely.
Microsoft .NET Framework is the programming model developed by Microsoft for building, deploying, and running these Web-based applications, smart client applications, and XML Web services. It effectively manages much of the background 'plumbing', taking care of the connectivity and security.
Do I need .NET?
Some of our products require version 2 of the .NET framework. This will be shown in the System Requirements details of each product.
Do I already have .NET installed?
If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, the box on the right will show if you already have the .NET framework installed on this computer. If you don't have it installed, please see below for details of how to get the .NET framework.

How do I get .NET?
The easiest way to get .NET is to use Windows Update on your computer. TAS Software always recommends using Windows Update so you get the latest updates for Windows including the regular security updates.
If you are installing one of our products which requires the .NET framework and it is not already installed on your computer, the installation routine will let you know.
