What do I need to do?
Check your setup
See if your system fits into the single-user, workgroup or network category.
Check the system requirements
Make sure your computers meet the minimum system requirements to run TAS BOOKS v8 and Pervasive Summit. You don’t need a particularly powerful computer to run TAS BOOKS and Pervasive Summit; most computers that have been on the market in the past four years or so will meet the minimum requirements.
If you’re thinking of upgrading your computer or adding an office network, you should make sure that it meets the recommended requirements, as the performance of TAS BOOKS will be improved by using higher specification computers or networks.
Check the number of users
You need to make sure that you get the right edition of TAS BOOKS for the number of users you need.
Check if you need a workgroup or network edition
If you have a multi-user edition of TAS BOOKS, or if you’re thinking of upgrading from a single-user to a multi-user system, decide if you need a workgroup or network edition of TAS BOOKS.
Contact your account manager
If you’re a TASCoverExtra subscriber and you have a multi-user edition of TAS BOOKS, we’ll send you a five-user workgroup edition of TAS BOOKS v8 – unless you tell us otherwise.

System requirements
It’s important to check that your system meets the minimum requirements to run TAS BOOKS with Pervasive Summit.
• Microsoft Windows XP (recommended) or Windows Vista
• Microsoft .NET v2 framework (this is included on the program CD)
• Microsoft Internet Explorer v6 or higher (this is included on the program CD)
• Adobe Acrobat Reader v6 or higher (this is included in the program CD)
Minimum hardware requirements
• A PC with a 1GHz processor
• At least 512MB of RAM on Windows XP, 1GB of RAM on Windows Vista
• A hard disk with at least 500MB of free space
• A CD-ROM drive
• A monitor with 1024x768 resolutoon and 24-bit colour
• An Internet connection
Recommended hardware requirements
• A PC with a 2GHz processor
• At least 1GB of RAM on Windows XP, 2GB of RAM on Windows Vista
• A hard disk with at least 500MB of free space
• A CD-ROM drive
• A monitor with 1280x1024 resolution and 32-bit colour
• A broadband Internet connection
Additional requirements for workgroup versions
• 100Mbps network, 1Gbps recommended
• Microsoft Windows networking, with TCP/IPv4
Additional requirements for network versions
• A network server running Windows Server 2003 or Windows Small Business Server 2003
• 100Mbps network, 1Gbps recommended
• Microsoft Windows networking, with TCP/IPv4
Performance will be improved with higher specification computers.
It is not possible to run multiple copies of TAS BOOKS on a single computer.
TAS BOOKS is not designed to operate on Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000.
